In the aftermath of the COVID 19 pandemic, many tour and travel companies experienced destruction in their operational businesses. Many companies have gone bankrupt. However, after 2023, businesses in the tourism sector will start to grow again in various regions and countries. However, over time, customers can no longer differentiate between tour and travel companies that have a good management system and which ones don't. So an assessment system is needed that can distinguish which ones are ready or have implemented a good company management system to maintain service quality, the environment and other sustainability in running the tourism supply chain.
Through the implementation of STSCM, it is hoped that companies in the Tour and Travel sector can carry out self-evaluations using this guide and at the same time be able to measure themselves and target improvements within the Company.
Apart from being a self-evaluation tool, STSCM is also a tool for measuring comparisons of management achievements based on the Sustainable Tourism Supply Chain Management (STSCM) Framework with other companies that use this system. To carry out a comparison of all companies implementing STSCM, we need information from companies operating tourism companies in various regions and countries, in this case we will focus more on 2 friendly countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia.
With the existence of a centralized database of information on the results of the self-evaluation, it will be easier to compare the data so that it is easier to map where and where the assessment of STSCM implementation is located in this company. For this reason, why is there a need for this STSCM Evaluation System in the future?
